Goals

 

 

Goal 1:

• Put a smile on a child’s face.

• I was able to complete this goal because I gave the kids attention. They just want someone to listen and watch what they are saying and doing and together as a group ever kid their felt like they were the center of attention and it really showed in there smile that they were having a great time. Also, we were at the park and ate pizza with friends. No matter what, I don’t care who you are, if your with friends and have pizza to eat there is a smile on your face..

 

 

Goal 2: 

• Give these kids the chance to make new friends.

• I was able to achieve this goal because I brought them together where they each took turns explaining a little bit about each other. Each of these kids found out that they are much more alike than they might have thought and that they aren’t alone with what they are going through in life.  

 

 

Goal 3:

• Become a better leader.

• I was able to complete this goal because this project was something that I am very passionate about and I understood what it was like to not get very much attention as a child. I was able to just listening and speaking back to them and give them advice on things that make it hard growing up without a parent and/or a parent that doesn’t give much attention to them.  Also I brought friendship together. Friendship is what helped me get through losing a parents so I wanted to make sure that these kids knew that they will never be alone and that others are in the same situation as they are.

 

 

 

Outcomes

 

Outcome 1:

    

By completing the goal of putting a smile on a child’s face, I made these kids happy and by doing this everyone else these kids come in contact with will be happy..  The benefit of this outcome is tremendas. Anytime most people see a child laughing and smiling it makes them smile. It's very true when people say that a smile is contagious. If your smiling your happy, and if your happy things in life at that moment are great. 

 

 

Outcome 2:

 

By completing the goal giving these kids a chance to make new friends, I made it so each of these kids realize their not alone in what they go through and they can talk to a friend now about what is going on in their life. The benefit of this outcome will make it so these kids grow into strong human beings in this world. Also, it will allow them to share with others what they went through during this project and that things are possible through friendship.

 

 

Outcome 3:

 

By completing of becoming a better leader, I gave myself more confidence and know now that I can do anything and accomplish anything I put my mind to. It will help me and the people I work for in the future. The benefit of this outcome is just the beginning. It has helped me be a more confident leader around people and this will only grow with every opportunity I get like this one.

Key Takeaways

 

Lessons learned -

 

This project not only helped the kids, but it helped me a ton. By sharing to these kids  what I went through and how I was able to get through these hard times, I showed them that there is other people that are in the same situation as them and that they can always go to someone when times get rough. By doing this it replaced a bad part of my life to something great. Like i was suppose to go through what I went through in losing a parent so i can share and help other kids. 

 

What I took out of this in a leadership aspect is that caring and being passionate about something makes it easy to be a leader. Sharing things that you have experienced is so accomplishing. It helped me be more outspoken to people and confident. I made a huge change to these children's lives and now they have tools to pass on to people and kids that are going through what they went through. It’s like a huge cycle. 

 

 

Future plans -

 

This project has made me super confident for future projects. I want to get out more and be a leader and teach and help people that need help. Before this project I didn't know much about sharing and talking to people wasn’t a strong point that I felt comfortable with. But, after this I can talk to people better. I understand how set up and organize activities with confidence, and I am way better at sharing personal things about my life. 

 

My patience level is stronger. These little kids had a ton of energy but, it was such a fun time. This project gave me a boost of confidence in knowing that i can be a leader to others. This will help me be successful in future projects.
